If there's a Dharma, how could we possibly be ignorant of it?--This Eastern cousin of the ProblemOfEvil has doggedly followed Buddhism since its birth in India.

This perennial weed burst forth in medieval Japan as hongkaku versus shikaku--original enlightenment against acquired enlightenment. If the Dharma is indeed the Source of the ten thousand things, how are we to reconcile the Truth of things with our utter inadequacy before it?--More troublingly, if we have this BuddhaNature thing, why even bother trying?
